❤️ Thank You, Perry County EMS! ❤️

A big thank-you to our Perry County EMS crew for spending time with our freshmen today and helping them become CPR certified!

This is the third year we have provided this training to our freshmen, and we love giving our students the opportunity to learn such an important, potentially life-saving skill. These are lessons that go far beyond the classroom and could one day help them save a life!

We appreciate Perry County EMS for their time, expertise, and commitment to our students and community! 👏🚑

🇺🇸 Join Us as We Honor Our Veterans! 🇺🇸

Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School invites all veterans to join us on Wednesday, November 11, for our Veterans Day Assembly!

❤️🤍💙 Our assembly will begin at 8:00 AM as we take time to recognize and honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Following that, all veterans are invited to join us in the cafeteria for a FREE breakfast as a small token of our appreciation.

We are grateful for the sacrifices our veterans have made to protect our freedoms, and we look forward to celebrating them with our students and staff.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to our country! 🇺🇸

Thanks to USI for hosting our sophomores on Friday! As part of our Marksmen Early College program, students were grouped by areas of interest to learn more about majors in business, engineering, liberal arts and health sciences. They were able to take a tour, visit residence halls and learn about admissions.

Our FFA and Culinary Arts students recently teamed up to help prepare and serve a farm-to-table event with Perry County Quality of Life Committee! Students put in countless hours cooking, plating, and serving fresh, local food. This experience gave our students real-world skills in food preparation, hospitality, and community engagement, and we are proud of their hard work and for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event.

👨‍🍳🍽️ Learning by Doing!

Last week, our Culinary Arts students had the opportunity to cater lunch for the Mayor’s Roundtable as more than 30 mayors from small Indiana communities visited Tell City.

Our students took ownership of the entire experience—from creating the menu and executing the plan to preparing and serving the meal.

We are incredibly proud of the professionalism, teamwork, and effort they demonstrated. Experiences like this are what make Career & Technical Education so valuable!

Great job, Culinary Arts! We are proud of you! ❤️🤍

🚔 Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Our Life Skills students spent this week learning about the operations of our local police department and gaining a better understanding of the important work law enforcement officers do in our community.

Today, the class welcomed School Resource Officer Triton Martin and Tell City Police Department Chief Derrick Lawalin, who took time to visit with our students, answer questions, and share their knowledge and experiences.

A big THANK YOU to Officer Martin and Chief Lawalin for spending time with our students and helping make this a meaningful learning experience! We also want to thank Mrs. Weatherholt for creating this opportunity and finding ways to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.

Recently, members of Tell City High School's National Honor Society and Student Leadership Committee made a donation to Perry County Special Olympics. This past school year, the two organizations fundraised by planning and hosting events for students, staff, and the community. Together, with a matching grant from the Kramer Charitable Trust through the Perry County Community Foundation, over $3,000 were donated!

Check out this blog from Junior Jaidin Hicks as we celebrate Early College Week!!

Hi, my name is Jaidin Hicks and I am a Junior at Tell City Jr.- Sr. High School. I am involved in Cross Country and Track and Field. It is Early College Week so I wanted to share with you my plans for after high school and tell how TCJSHS has set me up for my future.

After graduation, I want to work in the electrical field, with the goal of being a lineman. I had the opportunity to take Ivy Spark classes for my career pathway. These classes are located at Ivy Tech Community College. I am getting college credit for these classes while I am still in high school. Ivy Spark is the first three periods of my day. Some of the classes I have taken are Industrial Wiring, Motors and Motor Control, and Industrial Electrical Fundamentals. When I graduate, I will have a Certificate in Industrial Electrical Technology.

Ivy Spark will help me greatly in my future by giving me experience in the field that I am interested in going into. Next year I will gain even more experience as an intern with Tell City Electric and that will give me a real world experience of what it is like to be a lineman!
