As we celebrate Early College Week, we wanted to highlight the students who are on track to earn the Indiana College Core!! These students have earned over 30 hours of college credit (FOR FREE!) while in high school that will transfer to other Indiana colleges upon graduation. Congrats on your hard work!!

Check out this blog from Junior Jaidin Hicks as we celebrate Early College Week!!
Hi, my name is Jaidin Hicks and I am a Junior at Tell City Jr.- Sr. High School. I am involved in Cross Country and Track and Field. It is Early College Week so I wanted to share with you my plans for after high school and tell how TCJSHS has set me up for my future.
After graduation, I want to work in the electrical field, with the goal of being a lineman. I had the opportunity to take Ivy Spark classes for my career pathway. These classes are located at Ivy Tech Community College. I am getting college credit for these classes while I am still in high school. Ivy Spark is the first three periods of my day. Some of the classes I have taken are Industrial Wiring, Motors and Motor Control, and Industrial Electrical Fundamentals. When I graduate, I will have a Certificate in Industrial Electrical Technology.
Ivy Spark will help me greatly in my future by giving me experience in the field that I am interested in going into. Next year I will gain even more experience as an intern with Tell City Electric and that will give me a real world experience of what it is like to be a lineman!

Early College Week Blog
Hi, my name is Reese Ford and I am a senior at Tell City Jr. Sr. High School. I graduate in a little over a month and will be attending the University of Evansville for Physical Therapy. In honor of Early College Go Week, I am excited to share my high school experiences and how exceptional Tell City High School has prepared me for my future.
Throughout high school, I have stayed super involved through athletics and extracurriculars and am always looking for a new opportunity. One of my most impactful experiences has been my internship at ARI. At Tell City High School, seniors are super fortunate to intern with local businesses that may align with their future career path. My internship this year has allowed me to get real-world exposure to physical therapy and help me develop a better understanding of what a future in my career field will look like.
Last year, I also had the opportunity to take an Intro to Exercise Science course where I learned skills like taping ankles, taking blood pressure, and the basic modalities to treat a variety of injuries. Not only did the class assure my thoughts on becoming a Physical Therapist, but it also formed a connection that led me to getting a spot at my internship this year. These experiences helped me connect what I was learning in school to real life situations, which made everything feel so much more meaningful.
In addition, Tell City High School also offers a plethora of dual credit classes so you can enter your first year of college as a sophomore! After meeting with my academic advisor at UE they told me I will easily be able to get my doctorate of physical therapy within six years because of how many of my credits transferred from high school. Not only have I been able to get a head start on college coursework, but I have also learned how to manage my time and stay disciplined with the more challenging material. All of these opportunities have helped shape my plans after high school by giving me a clear path and valuable experiences.
Looking back I am really grateful that I chose to get involved and step outside of my comfort zone. All of these experiences made a big difference in preparing me for what is next and I encourage anyone reading this to do the same. Tell City High School gave me so much to be thankful for and I would do it all again if I could. Go Marksmen!

We would like to extend a big thank you to Amber Shaw, Leonard Hahus, and PCMH for taking the time to provide a CPR refresher to our Intro to Healthcare students this week.
Opportunities like this give our students valuable, hands-on experience and help reinforce the real-world skills they will carry into future careers in healthcare. We truly appreciate your support and willingness to invest in our students’ learning and success!
